RUSH
Rush is a sitespecific performance script for Laitama-festival 2007. In the performance a woman with careeer rush to the abandoned building site from the taxi. She walks in a hurry through the site into the bushes, up to the bunkers holding a pile of paper sheets. Papers fall to the ground on her way and after few minutes she enters to the taxi and drives away.
TEXT IN PAPERSHEETS:
- Yes, I could steal if I have to.
- How low can you go? I could easily sell my body, rather than take from others. Think about it. Think if someone would take your child for example… Or if you would snatch someone who is poor. Man is not able to take someone´s own. Prostitution is giving. It is growing humble.
- Not in hell. It is selling your self! Selling your honour and selling everybody else´s honour in the same. And it is bloody dangerous. Man can do anything to a bitch, anything, and even police do not care. The worst thing what could happen to thieves is arresting. The worst. Hookers could be raped or could get diseases…
- Condoms are invented.
- Really? So you would let any slimy fucker to go on you just for money? That is exploitation of humanity.
- Yeah, but it would be only up to me. That is honest work comparing to snatching.
- What kind of “honest work”? Come on! Thieves are working for their living, aren´t they?
- Stealing is banded in law. Prostitution is legal.
- Well, being a customer of prostitute is illegal anyway. So you prefer to push other´s to be outlaws. As a thief I would carry my own sins.
- But other people would be your victims. You would be only one fucking parasite. Where is your humanity?
- And you think it is human to fuck with any pervert who pumps up the road?
- The question is about sacrificing your self. It could be even therapeutic for some lonely one… I mean that whore can act almost a part of saint.
- And God is a thief.
- What a fuck you…
- Well think about the first woman who “rented” her womb to Holy Spirit. Think about 15 year old chick who was almost loosing her marriage, just because some God decided to use her womb. How was this girl paid for? That was a womb robbery, not a rent. Or think about Job. Because of God´s will he lost everything. OK, later on these victims of God are sanctified.
- You really are bad. You say that God is a thief?
- And you say that hookers are saints.
- God gives and takes away, because he wants people to learn. By the way, Mary Magdalena was a hooker as well…
- Yeah, but when Jesus came in she was out of business.
- Anyway I do believe that it is not that wrong to sell your own body, instead of steal from somebody else. Prostitution is still business. Pure commerce.
- If I would do that I could feel myself as dirty wasted rag. Respecting yourself knocks down unselfishness like that.
- Prostitution is social work and important one. Sexuality is a gift. Thief can help himself, but in the most selfish way. Have you ever done it?
